Travel back in time as you visit shops housed in early 20th century cottages in downtown Dade City and New Port Richey. If modern is more your style, you'll enjoy the new open-air retail destination, Shops at Wiregrass, or the national retailers and entertainment options at The Grove in Wesley Chapel. Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey features major anchors like Macy's, Dillards and Sears. And, if fleamarkets are more your style, the USA Flea Market in Hudson is the place to be. Birding Hot Spots


Bird Watching at its Best


With a wide range of natural habitats - from salt marsh and mangrove to oak scrub and flatwoods - Pasco County is home to more than 325 species of birds. Pasco is home to 10 stops along the Great Florida Birding Trail, created by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission, are right here in Pasco County! Check them out below. Make plans to celebrate the rush of migrating wings north along the Atlantic Flyway over Pasco, Citrus, and Hernando counties during the Nature Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival March 19 2015. The weekend will feature a variety of Birding and Eco Tours, programs, activities and walks at several preserves in the tri-county area, including the coastal areas of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail sites Crews Lake Park, Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park on the Pithlachascotee River, and the Withlacoochee State Forest.  The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Chinsegut Conservation Center will host displays and many educational opportunities.

The area is home to many fresh and saltwater species of fish including largemouth bass, catfish, Spanish mackerel, snook, tarpon, cobia, trout, redfish, grouper. Pasco's Gulf coast offers some of the best diving in Florida, from 10 to 35 miles offshore, at depths of 20 to 90 feet. Pasco County is home to two Arnold Palmer designed golf courses, one at Saddlebrook Resort, and the other being the course that "plays like North Carolina," Lake Jovita Golf & Country  Club. Hiking, Biking and Walking Trails


One of the best ways to explore Pasco County's natural beauty is on foot or by bicycle, allowing you to take your time, observe wildlife or enjoy a relaxing picnic under a moss-draped oak. Most of the county's 30 parks have nature trails of various lengths, but some of the larger or multi-county trails are listed below.
